SOCHI IS THE MOST POPULAR DESTINATION FOR THE NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY

According to the research carried out by analysts of specialized property developer (SZ) ""Sochi-Park Pyat Plus"", Sochi and Moscow are the most popular cities for New Year’s Eve celebration chosen by Russians; Kazan and Saint Petersburg are in second place, while such international destinations as Turkey, Egypt, Thailand, and the Maldives hold the third position.

The analysts of SZ ""Sochi-Park Pyat Plus"" conducted the study using Yandex.Wordstat tools. According to this research, the increase in demand and prices for rental housing at Russian resorts causes many people to seriously consider buying properties in these locations, and Sochi is the most frequently mentioned place in such queries as well.

The New Year's holidays are around the corner, and it’s high time to plan where you'll spend them in order to combine celebration and leisure time while bringing profit to your health. In 2022 the situation in the world continues to be very tense, and the doors of Western countries are still closed to Russian tourists. Due to this, resorts in Russia and such countries as Turkey, Egypt, and the UAE will become the most sought-after destinations for travel during the winter holidays 2022-2023.

Analysis of search queries using Yandex Wordstat tools revealed that Sochi is the most desired resort location for New Year's Eve holidays (the southern capital with 23 585 queries is second only to Moscow with 65 000 queries), followed by Kazan (14 309 queries) and Saint Petersburg (13 703 queries). According to the study, domestic destinations enjoy high demand, and even countries that are popular for winter holidays, such as Turkey (10 047 queries), Egypt (7386 queries), Thailand (1123 queries), the UAE (5390 queries), and the Maldives (1100 queries), attracted less interest among Russians.

Increased interest in domestic tourism drives up demand for real estate at Russian resorts: many people seriously consider purchasing properties in resort cities, which are available in any season. The study of queries in the Yandex search engine revealed the leadership of Sochi in this regard: from August to November 2022 there were 128 754 queries regarding Sochi real estate, 64 909 queries concerning Kaliningrad, and 29 576 queries about real estate in Gelendzhik.
